Lourdes. I don't know of a more touching place. We would like to be insensitive to it. We would like to resist the kitsch side of the sanctuary. To these myriads of plastic virgins. and yet... Small or large, weak or powerful, the grotto brings everyone to their knees, in the simplicity of the heart and abandonment. When Bernadette found the source, it was all bogged down and cluttered with stones. Like our hearts often. It took work to make it pure and crystalline. It is a work that continues every day. It is that of clarity and TRUST!
I wanted to dedicate my second artist's rosary to Lourdes. It is made of white mother-of-pearl and blue angelite stone, the colors of the Virgin's dress. In the heart of the rosary there is a Marian medal and two small yellow flowers, like those that were on the feet of the Virgin Mary during the apparitions. Finally, the cross is made of silver leaf, luminous like the water of the miraculous spring and decorated in its center with a blue forget-me-not flower, symbol of eternal love in the language of flowers.
I offer you a small bottle of Lourdes water that we took from the grotto and filled one by one for you. This water is a grace and is not sold, it was offered and I perpetuate this gesture. There was once one in every house. One of my grandmothers miraculously recovered her sight thanks to it. You may not be able to go to Lourdes but Lourdes will come to you and you will be able to bless your rosary and your house.
