There are pieces of jewelry for which we can’t explain the attachment we feel toward them. That’s how I feel about this little sparkling cross. It’s small; I can wear it as a choker, as a long necklace, or on my wrist with a charm bracelet. There’s the cross. And Mary center is Mary with the Miraculous Medal of Rue du Bac. I crafted it from soft pink sand that reminds me of desert dunes and the silent pilgrimages that taught me so much about the world’s splendor. And then I added some glitter—fine golden flakes that sparkle with joy. It’s very small, yet to me it has everything. It’s my daily companion.
