I'm fortunate to have extraordinary men in my life: my late father, my husband, my long-time friends. I have great love and respect for these male figures whose gifts are combined - through filiation, love or friendship - with female gifts. I see men as builders, and, like Saint Joseph, as carpenters. They build the structure of our families. As the framework of Notre-Dame de Paris remained standing in the furnace, so they remain courageous, valiant, protective. So, this Romanesque cross, one of the oldest in the cathedrals, naturally made me think of them.
