Saint Therese is my best friend in Heaven. At every difficult moment, I turned to her and she always supported me. At every moment of great joy, I thanked her. So I took inspiration in the world of my daughters and their friends who talk about theirBFFS, "best friends forever".
To have a best friend in Heaven, what a luxury for the soul! What tenderness and consolation too!
In fact, Saint Therese promised with unfailing aplomb: "After I die, I'll make it rain roses." Sometimes, grace has such simple ways!
So let us entrust ourselves to her with the simplicity of children: "What you have hidden from the wise and learned, you have revealed to little ones." (Mt 11: 25-27) I've designed a jewel with her tender face to accompany us every day. It can be worn on either side: Therese smiling out at the world, or against your heart, revealing the lovely back of a fine rose.
The jewel comes with a letter to fill in (you can read what it says in the pictures) and a lovely envelope addressed to the Shrine of Lisieux. In it, you can entrust what's important to you. All you have to do is stamp the envelope and slip it into any letterbox. It will go to the shrine of Lisieux, where your intention will be deposited with Saint Therese along with the other intentions of pilgrims. It's a journey of the heart, from where you are...
I sincerely hope that the time you take to lay at God's feet, through Saint Therese, all the intentions that are dear to you will help you to see more clearly what matters... and what matters less. In practical terms, your letter will be entrusted to the nuns of the Shrine of Lisieux, who will pray for your intentions. It will not be returned to you. But if you wish, you can make a photocopy or take a photograph, and in a year's time, at the start of the new school year, or on Saint Therese's Day, you'll discover the graces you've received.
