A few years ago, I created a large bronze sculpture in the church of Yvetot, called the "Empty Tomb". Peter and John run to the tomb. Saint John's hand touches the void left by the stone that was rolled away. In my sculpture this gap is only light. He touches absence and infinity at the same time. He sees. And he believes. A dazzling revelation.
It is this same idea in this jewel, a cross surrounded by gold and sparkling copper and in the center, a silver cross, empty. Empty? No. Infinitely full of the Hope that the Resurrection gives to the world. Infinitely full of a love that will never cease. It is the whole mystery of God summarized: invisible and absolutely present.
Gold filled diamond plated medal 20 mm, openwork cross in silver, gold and copper leaf. Presented here on the Elisabeth chain .
