I love this Our Lady of the Stars motif! Here is its version sculpted in glass. Mary, gentle and strong, queen and humble, silent and universal mother. This piece is very demanding to sculpt as well as to gild. In my life as an artist, I’ve often seen that hardship bears great fruit. May this icon bring the blessing of the Queen of Heaven to your homes.

Fleur Nabert has been creating complete interior fittings for churches for 25 years, including liturgical furniture, sculptures, and stained glass. During a major stained glass project, she had the idea of bringing the magic of glass into homes, to adorn a prayer corner, an office, and imbue them with the power of a genuine work of art. This icon is made from thermoformed glass: the artist sculpts the design in a bed of plaster, then a piece of glass is placed on top, covered with colored glass powder, and fired at 800 degrees for 24 hours. It is crafted at the Loire workshops in Chartres. It is then enhanced with yellow and white gold leaf. Each piece is signed with diamond-point engraving and delivered in a protective box with a Plexiglas stand and an explanatory card. Gilding is done on demand and takes 6 working days to complete.

From sculpture to jewelry
UNIQUE EXPERTISE
For over twenty years, I have worked with clay, wax, bronze, wood, glass, and gold on a very large scale. I have miniaturized all of this expertise into jewelry, with the same sense of spatial arrangement. A sculpture needs empty space around it to sing; a piece of jewelry is a dialogue between an outer form and the treasure it contains.
